ITALIAN EDUCATION AWARDS FOR STUDENTS

Terms & Conditions

  1. The Italian Education Awards are promoted by Il Gruppo dell’Amicizia in memoria di Enrica Inglese, under the patronage of the Italian Media Corporation (Il Globo, La Fiamma, Rete Italia, Il Globo TV).
  2. The competition has 3 categories: students in Years 5-6; Years 7-9; and Years 10-12.
  3. Primary School students in Years 5-6 are to submit a written work. Essays shall be written in Italian. Texts should not exceed 300 words.
  4. Secondary School students in Years 7-9 and Years 10-12 are to submit a short video. Videos are to include spoken Italian language by the entrant, and should not exceed 3 minutes.
  5. For privacy reasons, the participants will be asked to refer to their family only by their first name (for example: Antonio, Maria).
  6. All Year 5-6 written works are to be individual entries. Year 7-9 and Year 10-12 video entries may be an individual entry, OR a group entry of up to a maximum of 4 participants.
  7. Each participant can present only one work.
  8. Closing date for all entries is Friday 12 June 2026.
  9. Video entries must be submitted via the online entry form located at italianawards.com.au. Written entries (Years 5-6 only) may also be submitted by mail to La Fiamma, PO Box 195, Leichhardt NSW 2040, with the entry template.
  10. Judges may request verification of works and permissions to confirm the validity of an entry and identity of the entrant.
  11. Making criteria for all categories is as follows:
    1. Use of the Italian language; language accuracy – 60% of total mark
    1. Creativity and interpretation of the topic – 40% of total mark
  12. An independent jury will select the winners.  The jury’s decision is indisputable.
  13. Winners’ names will be published in Il Globo, La Fiamma and at italianawards.com.au 
  14. The prizes awarded will be as follows:
    1. Years 5-6: 1st Prize $500; 2nd prize $300; 3rd prize $200
    1. Years 7-9:  1st Prize $500; 2nd prize $300; 3rd prize $200
    1. Years 10-12: 1st Prize $500; 2nd prize $300; 3rd prize $200
  15. Other excellent entries will receive a Special Mention certificate.
  16. By submitting entries to the Italian Education Awards, the entrant is providing the promoter rights as follows:
    1. Essays, or parts, may be published in print in La Fiamma and Il Globo
    1. Essays, or parts, may be published at italianawards.com.au 
    1. Videos may be shown at the Awards Presentation Day on 26 July 2026
  17. Permission is given for photos taken at the Awards Presentation Day on 26 July to be published in La Fiamma / Il Globo publications.
