Thanks to the sponsors of each category, the Italian Education Awards will be offered throughout Australia under the patronage of the Italian Media Corporation (Il Globo, La Fiamma, Rete Italia. Il Globo TV)

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ITALIAN STUDENTS OF PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS

Primary School Students (years 5 and 6) will have to write an essay (maximum 300 words) in Italian on the theme:

  1. ‘My Suitcase’ …. the importance of a suitcase when travelling?  Have your grandparents told you what valuables they carried with them when they migrated to Australia and there importance…?

Secondary School Students (years 7/ 8/9) will have to write an essay (maximum 500 words) on the theme:

Young people and social networks.   

Social networks are present in the lives of all of us.  Suffice to say that on August 24, 2015, for the first time, a billion people connected to Facebook in a single day, a clear sign that they involve us and direct our interests every day.  What are the advantages and disadvantages of social networks?  What are the social networks you use the most?  Why do you prefer one social network to another?  Do you think you are using it responsibly or abusing it?  How do social networks influence your lifestyle?  Can you imagine your life without social networks?  In your opinion, what is the future of social networks?

Secondary School Students years (10/11/12) will have to write an essay (maximum 700 words) on the theme:

The war in Ukraine and the many other wars in the world pose many reflections and many questions. While more than half of the world’s population suffers from hunger, billions are spent on the manufacture of weapons of war, including some that, if used, would have devastating effects on the entire planet.  In your opinion, what should rulers do to eliminate wars so that the whole world can enjoy the well-being that only peace can give?

Three prizes will be awarded for each category worth:

$500 (first prize), $300 (second prize) and $200 (third prize)

In addition, notable mention prizes will be awarded for each category.

A qualified jury will choose the winners. The jury’s decision is final.
